“You are the temple of God”
Last Sunday’s readings at Mass seems particularly relevant when interpreted from a pro-life perspective. St. Paul writes (1 Corinthians 2:9c-11, 16-17):
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If anyone destroys God’s temple,
God will destroy that person;
for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.”
Abortion destroys God’s temple. The Spirit doesn’t require a big body in which to dwell. In fact it dwells within us at the very instant at conception when we are at our tiniest.
Even more, God tells the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:5) that He knew him before he was born, acknowledging that our Creator has special missions for each of us.
The body of each unborn human being is holy, meaning it is sacred and dedicated to God.
What are the consequences of abortion? Read St. Paul.
God is merciful, but think twice about participating in an abortion. Your soul is at stake.
