Iowa Legislature passes bill restricting abortion pills via telehealth
The Iowa Coalition of Pro-life Leaders played a critical role!
The Iowa Legislature approved House File 2788 Sunday, a bill that would restrict access to abortion-inducing medications like mifepristone through telehealth and mail-order prescription services. The legislation adds that medical treatment for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies could not be construed as abortion procedures under state law.
This is an important win for women. Although we will continue to advocate for the end of any form of abortion, this is a common sense safety measure for women and one more important step in the right direction. Mifepristone is a dangerous drug: Insurance Data Reveals One in Ten Patients Experiences a Serious Adverse Event after taking mifepristone.
I hope you can join us at the Iowa March for Life on June 20th at the Iowa Capitol as we continue to advocate for the protection of all life in state law.
