A sobering survey
Murder is acceptable within a cadre of young Leftists according to a new Emerson Poll. One in six voters, according to the Emerson Poll, labeled as “acceptable” the public assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson two years ago.
Luigi Mangione confessed to the murder. He carefully planned the public execution, stalking his victim and eventually shooting him the back in front of the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel. He has became a folk hero among young Democrats, despite committing premeditated homicide.
Emerson’s newest polls echoes the results from their 2024 poll, suggesting that the acceptance of political violence among a solid cohort of young people isn’t just a passing fancy.
What the Emerson Poll revealed
Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, shed additional light from their 2024 survey:
“While 68% of voters overall reject the killer’s actions, younger voters and Democrats are more split — 41% of voters aged 18-29 find the killer’s actions acceptable (24% somewhat acceptable and 17% completely acceptable), while 40% find them unacceptable; 22% of Democrats find them acceptable, while 59% find them unacceptable, this compares to 12% of Republicans and 16% of independents who find the actions acceptable, underscoring shifting societal attitudes among the youngest electorate and within party lines.”
The trend is unmistakable. The same people cheering the death of Brian Thompson are the same people who cheered the 2023 massacre of twelve-hundred Jews in the Gaza Strip by Hamas; and the 2025 public assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Pulse Life Advocates notices the connection to this survey and the pro-life movement. The same people who accept homicide as the solution to political problems are the same people, based on polling, who embrace abortion as the solution to an inconvenient pregnancy.
Violence is the answer, in their worldview. It is a frontal attack on the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ.
Pulse Life Advocates notices how much this country has changed since the 1973 Roe v Wade decision normalized abortion as the solution to these inconvenient pregnancies. Abortion damaged human dignity by reducing the innocent child in the womb to a mere ‘clump of cells.’ It turned her into a mere object, an abstraction, unworthy of life if she stood in the way of her mother or father’s agenda.
That sounds harsh, yet it is accurate.
What is the fruit of 53 years of abortion? Those born into a milieu that viewed human life as disposable have naturally broadened their belief in the disposability of life as the solution to those whom they villainize.
