The First Annual Iowa March for Life as a huge success.
The Iowa March for Life on the anniversary of the Dobbs decision was a wonderful success. We had close to 400 people in attendance (the DM Register said 100 - wrong). There was a celebratory joy over what has been accomplished, while at the same time a call to keep on fighting for the most vulnerable - the unborn.
The speakers, including our executive director, Maggie DeWitte, knocked it out of the park.
Fr. Pins opened the event with prayer. Speakers included AG Brenna Bird, Alan Ostergren, Rep. Luana Stoltenberg, Senator Sandy Salmon, a lovely young intern from named Grace from Dubuque County Right to Life, and Kathy, a woman who was the product of a rape. Her mother was 11 years old when she was born. What a story she had to tell. Powerful!
After the rally at the capital, we marched to the Iowa Supreme Court and back. Dire weather was predicted but the event went off with only a few rain drops at the very end.
It was a beautiful day. Praise God. He is with us in this righteous cause.
