How to resurrect the sanctity of life in Iowa

sanctity of life in Iowa

Governor Kim Reynolds will not appeal a recent court decision which shot down the Heartbeat Bill.

The Governor made a tough call. The appeal process had almost no chance to succeed in light or the Iowa Supreme Court’s brazen support of abortion last year.

And since Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit against the Heartbeat Bill asserted the law only violated the Iowa Constitution and not the Roe v Wade decision itself, the decision cannot be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

So what do we do? Iowans for LIFE has a plan on how to resurrect the sanctity of life in Iowa, so keep reading. The plan only succeeds with your help.

There is no silver bullet. Rather, there is a longterm campaign that requires unity and collaboration:

ATTEND THE IOWA RALLY FOR LIFE THIS THURSDAY

Iowa Rally for LifePro-lifers thrive on prayer and unity. That’s what the Iowa Rally for Life is all about. Let’s come together in the rotunda at the Capitol and pray on behalf of the sanctity of human life in Iowa.

Governor Kim Reynolds will speak at around 11:45 to noon. (Please note, this is a change in schedule, as the Governor was originally going to speak at 11AM).

We know there’s going to be snow on the ground, but the movement needs YOU to be at the Capitol THIS Thursday.

AMEND THE IOWA CONSTITUTION

pro life amendment

Support this amendment to the Iowa Constitution

Our unelected Supreme Court somehow, someway found a ‘right to human abortion’ hidden within the recesses of our Constitution. Their reasoning was skewed by politics.

The solution is a simple amendment to the Constitution as follows:

“No right to abortion or required funding of abortion: The Constitution of the State of Iowa does not secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.”

The Iowa Constitution has been amended many times. It needs to pass two consecutive legislative sessions, and then the people of Iowa get to vote on it.

IFL is working in the trenches on this project along with the rest of our friends in the Iowa Coalition of Pro Life Leaders.

PRO LIFE BILLBOARDS

Iowans for LIFE is coordinating a billboard campaign with coalition members to counter Planned Parenthood’s obscene campaign which seeks to normalize human abortion.

MARCH FOR LIFE

Ultimately, we know that the best way to resurrect the sanctity of life in Iowa is through our youth. That’s why IFL continues to take our youth to the March for Life each year by the busload. Even more, we’re creating a documentary of this year’s March as a recruiting tool for next year’s March. Watch a clip above.

INTELLECTUAL WARFARE

Iowans for LIFE thinks outside the box and engages our community in provocative new ways, such as A CLASH OF CREEDS, a theatrical piece. Watch the trailer above.

A CLASH OF CREEDS features a conversation between three iconic women from the 20th century, including Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger; Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged; and St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. The conversation is moderated by the great English thinker, GK Chesterton.

The play is an intellectual tour de force of the ideas that molded America, for better and for worse. Four performances remain, including three this weekend.

So how do we resurrect the sanctity of life in Iowa? Through a blend of politics, prayer, marketing, and intellectual enlightenment.

Join the campaign, beginning with this Thursday’s Iowa Rally for Life.

A Clash of Creeds returns THIS Saturday!

A CLASH OF CREEDS returns

Dear Iowans for LIFE Supporter: A CLASH OF CREEDS shocked attendees at our annual banquet in October.

How could intelligent people from the 20th century embrace such discordant dogmas!

A CLASH OF CREEDS features a provocative conversation between three of the 20th century’s most dynamic women:

  • Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood;
  • Ayn Rand, author of Atlas Shrugged; and
  • St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

The conversation is moderated by none other than the irrepressible GK Chesterton, one of the 20th century’s great wits and intellects.

A Clash of Creeds is a conversation between these titans, dramatically presented in their own words.

To this day, these creeds clash in the public square, houses of worship, and even our families. These are the creeds that influenced a nation.

Get ready for rocky journey into the soul of a nation!

Thanks to support from Iowans for LIFE supporters, we are bringing back this unique pro-life theater piece for six performances in a Catholic Church near you (see list below).

Admission is free, although a free will offering will taken at each.

Watch our video trailer below for details!

I look forward to seeing you at A CLASH OF CREEDS!

Maggie DeWitte’s testimony before yesterday’s Senate subcommittee

Feb 7, 2019 | Comments Off on Maggie DeWitte’s testimony before yesterday’s Senate subcommittee
Senate Joint Resolution 9
Senate Joint Resolution 9

Iowans for LIFE’S Executive Director, Maggie DeWitte, testifies before the Senate subcommittee on SJR 9

My name is Maggie DeWitte and I am the director of Iowans for LIFE and spokesman for the Coalition of Pro-Life Leaders.  The Coalition is represented by organizations across the state including: Lutheran Family Services, Restored by Grace, Operation Outcry, Personhood Iowa, Iowa Right to Life, Family Leader, Thomas More Society, and Iowans for LIFE.

We are united in our mission and our goals and work closely together to give a voice to those without one.  I speak to you today in support of Senate Joint Resolution 9.

This amendment’s language clarifies what is already obvious to anyone who reads our state constitution.  There is absolutely no right to abortion or funding of abortion in this document.  The unelected judges of the Iowa Supreme Court did with one pen stroke the job of the elected officials of the state of Iowa- they created law.

What they did was wrong, and this amendment is the first step in correcting that mistake.

The job of our senators and representatives is to make the laws; that is what the people of Iowa elect you to do.  And this is a bi-partisan issue; whether you are Republican or a Democrat, we all should agree that the judicial branch of our government is not tasked with creating laws. We must undo the damage that has already been done in the state of Iowa.

Ultimately this is about ‘we the people’.  By passing this amendment, you are making it one step closer to allowing the people in the state of Iowa to vote on whether our constitution should be amended.  And that is where the decision should be, not with unelected judges usurping their role.

I also think that you heard loud and clear from the people of Iowa that applauded your efforts to pass the 20-week abortion ban and the heartbeat bill: the people in the state of Iowa are pro-life and they want their laws to reflect that.

Whether Iowa is going to be a pro-life state, or the next New York is a decision for the people of Iowa, not five unelected judges.

What we have heard across the nation in New York and Virginia should give us here in Iowa pause.  Human life in the womb has never been so attacked as we have seen in recent weeks, the obscene notion that babies can be killed not only hours before a healthy delivery and birth, but even after.

We have moved beyond even the horror of abortion, right into infanticide.  That is all the more reason that this amendment is so important.  We cannot let the state of Iowa take the path of New York and Virginia.  We must stand for all life.  Thank You.

pro life amendment

Support this amendment to the Iowa Constitution

We need you to help us amend Iowa’s Constitution with a pro life amendment.

Iowans for LIFE is working with the Iowa Pro Life Coalition to prevent the Hawkeye state from being turned into a New York where human abortion is devoid of regulation.

Five unelected Iowa Supreme Court justices have pretty much gutted the reasonable limits imposed on abortion by our democratically elected legislature.

The three day waiting period: gone.

The Heartbeat Bill: gone.

The Fetal Pain limitations: hanging on by a thread.

The judges must have read a different Constitution than the rest of us in discovering a “Constitutional” right to human abortion in it.

Here is the language to the pro life amendment

How do we fight back? By amending the Constitution with a pro life amendment, and it’s been done many, many times. We’re going to do it again with this Amendment (S.J.R. 9):

“No right to abortion or required funding of abortion: The Constitution of the State of Iowa does not secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion.”

How can you help? If you’re available, join us tomorrow for the subcommittee hearing in room 315 in the Iowa Capitol. The hearing begins at noon, so arrive by 11:30AM to get a seat.

Five unelected judges essentially amended our State Constitution by judicial fiat. Let’s undo the damage beginning tomorrow with our own pro life amendment.

This is the first step. The Amendment language must be passed in two consecutive legislative sessions before the people of Iowa get to vote on it.

If you can’t make it, pray hard for the success of this effort.

[Iowans for LIFE is hard at work on multiple fronts. We are launching a billboard campaign once we get enough financial support. Can you help? DONATE today! Thank-you.]

Presidential candidates reject Roe v Wade

Feb 1, 2019 | Comments Off on Presidential candidates reject Roe v Wade
infanticide
infanticide

Abortion zealots light up the World Trade center to celebrate infanticide

Don’t let the headline above fool you. Just about every potential presidential nominee, save one, is aggressively pro abortion. But the markers are moving quicker than you can say infanticide.

Where Roe V Wade limited human abortion to the first trimester, most potential 2020 presidential candidates say it didn’t go far enough. They oppose any meaningful regulation on human abortion.

Reproductive ‘Health’ Act

New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, and former New York Senator, Hillary Clinton, both supported the recently passed “Reproductive Health Act” which permits abortion at any point in a pregnancy, whether the first month or the last, in the state of New York. The governor had the World Trade Center lit up in pink to celebrate and rub it in to distraught pro lifers.

Elizabeth Warren not only supports access to legal abortion without restrictions, she supports public abortion funding and calls for a pro abortion litmus test for potential court nominees.

Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand are pretty much on the same page as Senator Warren.

Hawaii Senator, Tulsi Gabbard, would ban all ‘anti-abortion’ limitations. But at least she disagrees with Senator Harris on compelling Supreme Court judges to resign from the pro-life Catholic group, the Knights of Columbus.

Bernie Sanders is all in on any piece of pro abortion legislation, even opposing a ban on partial-birth abortion.

The Women’s ‘Health’ Protection Act would be a disaster

Corey Booker co-sponsored the dishonestly named Women’s Health Protection Act, which would be a disaster to those who support reasonable regulation on abortion access. The Charlotte Lozier Institute highlights the devastating impact this bill would have on abortion laws already on the books:

  1. Could Be Interpreted to Impose a Heightened Burden of Proof on Many if Not Most Abortion Laws Ever Enacted
  2. Would Trump 20-Week Laws in a Very Large Percentage of Cases
  3. Would Create a Special Protection in Federal Law for Sex-Discrimination Abortion
  4. Would Jeopardize Laws Limiting Performance of Abortions to Licensed Physicians
  5. Would Authorize Federal Court Attacks on Abortion Clinic Health and Safety Standards that Protect Women
  6. Could Have the Effect of Deterring Health and Safety Inspections of Abortion Clinics
  7. Would Jeopardize Limits on Late Abortions
  8. Would Jeopardize Prohibitions on Taxpayer-Funded Abortion—Including the Hyde Amendment—as well as Abortion Training
  9. Would Jeopardize Health and Safety Regulations Governing the Use of Abortion Drugs
  10. Would Jeopardize Health and Safety Regulations Governing the Practice of Telemedicine Abortion
  11. Would Jeopardize Sonogram and Fetal Heartbeat Test Requirements
  12. Would Jeopardize Mandatory Reflection Periods that the U.S. Supreme Court Has Upheld
  13. Could Be Interpreted to Trump State and Federal Conscience Protections

Joe Biden is the least strident Democrat on abortion

Of the potential Democratic candidates, former Vice President Joe Biden stakes out less strident positions on abortion issues than his potential intra-party rivals. He opposes partial birth abortion and federal funding for abortion. And he doesn’t call for a litmus test for judges on whether they’d overturn Roe v Wade. Nonetheless, he passionately supports Roe v Wade.

President Trump has been the most pro life president in history

By contrast, President Trump appointed two pro life Supreme Court justices; he signed a bill allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood; he signed an Executive Order allowing states to withhold Medicaid and other federal monies to groups that perform abortions; he re-instated and expanded the “Mexico City Policy” to prevent US taxpayers from funding human abortion in other countries; and promises to sign pro life legislation that Congress puts on his desk.

At both the federal and state levels, Democratic politicians are increasingly supporting legislation that permits abortion rights up to the point of delivery, even if a mother is dilating. Watch the chilling exchange below where a member of the Virginia House of Delegates is forced to admit that her bill essentially allows infanticide:

The Virginia governor, Ralph Northam, made it clear that infanticide was on the table with this bill:

“So in this particular example if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated IF that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother” [emphasis ours].

Iowa may not be far behind.

Here in Iowa, a judge has thrown out the Heartbeat Bill. The Iowa Supreme Court asserts that Iowa women have a “constitutional right” to abortion, so the 20 week fetal pain abortion ban may rest on shaky ground.

If it falls, we’ll be no different than New York, even though Iowans have voted for significant regulations on human abortion.

Abortion proponents are moving fast trying to normalize abortion. As we’ve written before, Planned Parenthood is plastering pro abortion billboards throughout the state.

“Shout Your Abortion” groups are aggressively touting abortion as something quite normal right here in Des Moines, as the Des Moines Register reported on earlier this week.

Help us stop infanticide

Are you bothered by this growing movement to normalize infanticide? If yes, you can fight back in two practical ways.

The first is to show up at the Capital next Wednesday, February 6th at noon, to sit in on a hearing to amend the state constitution which once and for all strips abortion from our state constitution, as follows:

“A Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa that the Constitution of the State of Iowa does not secure or protect a right to or require the funding of abortion.”

The second is to support our pro life billboard campaign. Donate online here.

Roe v Wade doesn’t go far enough for just about every single Democratic presidential candidate. Collectively, the party is moving in the direction of active acceptance of infanticide.

Help us fight back with a powerful pro life billboard campaign with a donation of $500, $100, or $50. We’re ready to launch as soon as the money is raised.

Fear and loathing at the March for Life

Jan 24, 2019 | Comments Off on Fear and loathing at the March for Life
March for Life 2019

March for Life 2019The March for Life 2019 was a shocking success. For over 30 years, Iowans for LIFE has been a presence at this iconic, cultural event. This year, we took four busloads of two-hundred students in all.

The mainstream media has bent over backwards to NOT cover this event, despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people march peacefully for life each year in the nation’s capitol.

March for Life 2019 generates awesome news coverage!

But this year, we hit pay dirt! The mainstream media provided lavish coverage!

It’s true that CBS initially doled out but 8 seconds of coverage after the March, and the other networks were just as stingy.

And it’s true that they gave the Women’s March fifteen times the coverage, according to the Media Research Center.

But then the Covington Kids firestorm occurred which made it a lead story in every anti-life news outlet in the country.

No need to recount the details, you’ve read them elsewhere where some Catholic kids at the March supposedly harassed a native American in front of the Lincoln Memorial. This incident is profoundly significant because it reveals how much abortion supporters fear the March for Life.

The March for Life works

The March has been the most powerful weapon against Big Abortion and its minions because it galvanizes the youth, Planned Parenthood’s future customers, to reject human abortion and publicly oppose it.

Big Abortion and their allies in Big Media loathe these kids, which was on full display in their rush to condemn the Covington Kids.  Here are a few of their choice comments on these pro life young people:

“I don’t know what it says about me but I’ve truly lost the ability to articulate the hysterical rage, nausea, and heartache this makes me feel. I just want these people to die. Simple as that. Every single one of them. And their parents.” Erik Abriss, writing for New York Media’s pop culture site, Vulture

More violent rhetoric from abortion supporters

Jack Morrissey, who co-produced “Beauty and the Beast” for Walt Disney Productions, built on this violent theme with a tweet, accompanied by a bloody graphic, that purrs:

“MAGA kids go screaming, hats first, into the wood chipper.”

Wonder what Walt would say about an employee who fantasizes about killing kids?

And even more…

CNN’s Ana Navarro called the boys “racists” and “a**wipes.” And their legal analyst, Bakari Sellers, said one of the boys should be “punched in the face.”

Not to be outdone, another CNN contributor, Reza Aslan, exclaimed,

“Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid’s?”

A call for public shaming

At least comedian, Kathy Griffin, didn’t want to kill, chop up, or punch any of the kids. She simply wants them publicly named on social media and shamed:

“Name these kids. I want NAMES. Shame them. If you think these f—ers wouldn’t dox you in a heartbeat, think again.”

Hollywood actor, John Cusack, seemed chagrined by the kids’ Catholicity:

“This Covington School thing is beyond belief…the lack of basic Respect for an elder (any elder) is the number one symptom of a SICK society….MAGA CATHOLICS paving the road of ignorance…you are a DISGRACE…look that word up, it means something….learn your History, Catholics. Grow some spine Clergy…lead by example and stop embarrassing the rest of us who know better.”

More profanity…

Clearly, Hollywood actors know better than the rest of us, as another Hollywood actress, Debra Messing, demonstrated with this delicate description of one of the Covington kids:

“Mocking, condescending, disrespecting, A–HOLE,”

The authoress of “The Purity Myth,” Jessica Valenti, just plain didn’t like the looks of the fifteen year Catholic boy at the heart of the controversy:

“I think so many of us have been on the receiving end of the face he was making: a smug, untouchable, entitled f*** you.”

Guess she never heard the phrase, don’t judge a book by its cover.

The mainstream media had the story backwards

We could go on. You get the idea. Of course, the irony of the whole story is that the media had the story backwards. The Covington Kids were the victims, and a dishonest former marine and the mainstream media their victimizers.

The folks making the comments above quickly raced to delete their profane rants from their Twitter feeds when a full video of the affair became public exonerating the kids and condemning the adults.

Normal folks noticed

But normal folks around the country took notice at the way abortion rights supporters tried to destroy a group of fifteen year old kids.

Normal folks noticed the violent rhetoric that animated the conversations of those who characterize human abortion as “healthcare.”

Big Abortion and Big Media fear the March for Life and the growing wave of decent kids who head back to their schools proclaiming a reverence for human life from fertilization to natural death.

Millions of these kids have been on the March over the years. No wonder the abortion rate is dropping. No wonder Big Abortion and their media allies loathe them.

Help IFL fund dynamic, new pro life billboards to counter Planned Parenthood’s obscene campaign

Dear Iowans for LIFE Supporter:

I’m in Washington DC preparing for the March for Life, but I had to write to you immediately on an urgent matter. Planned Parenthood is flooding Iowa with dishonest billboards like this one …

and this:

pro life billboard campaign

Their goal is to normalize abortion and to restore their dwindling abortion revenues.

Iowans for LIFE and our pro life allies have been wildly successful in educating young people on the dangers of human abortion. As a result, abortions have plummeted in recent years.

Planned Parenthood seduces vulnerable women with dishonest messaging

Planned Parenthood was forced to close twenty clinics between 2010 and 2017 as more young women chose life over human abortion. In an attempt to bolster “sales,” they have launched an aggressive, nationwide billboard campaign to seduce at-risk women into aborting inconvenient babies.

Their billboards are peppered throughout the state of Iowa, including Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Iowa City, and Council Bluffs.

The billboard that defines human abortion as healthcare is simply obscene. We have created a billboard to rebut their falsehood with this simple statement:

pro life billboard campaign

Our campaign can go “live” only with your help

We can’t publish this billboard, and others we’re working on, without your financial support. I really believe you’re going to want to get behind this project as you learn what we have in mind. For example, here’s another billboard we’re working on:

pro life billboard campaign

And here’s another:

Support our pro life billboard campaign. Donate today.

Let’s face it, Planned Parenthood has deep pockets. Rich celebrities and liberal politicians support them. Taxpayers have been forced to fund their services (until our pro life coalition got the Iowa legislature to pull the plug last year!).

Get ready for a pro-life billboard blitz!

IFL has reached out to fellow members of our pro-life coalition to fight back with a substantial pro life billboard campaign throughout Iowa.

We’ve taken the lead in uniting our allies to pool our resources with riveting pro-life messaging.

How would you like to see this billboard exposed to tens of thousands at-risk women…

These efforts work.

Iowans for LIFE is making a difference. But there’s not a day that goes by that we can let up. Big Abortion is tenacious. There’s big money to made in abortion factories. They are investing big time in a sprawling advertising campaign designed to regain the lost “business” we’re costing them.

Here’s what we need

So here’s where we’re at: We’ve got a half a dozen pro-life groups lining up to fund our own $50,000 campaign featuring the billboards above.

Iowans for LIFE has pledged $11,000 towards the project.  And we need to fundraise the money right now.  Planned Parenthood has a month head start on us.

We turn to you, a valued pro-life warrior, to fund this noble cause.  Specifically we ask you to financially support this billboard campaign with an immediate donation of $1000 … or $500 … or $100.

No contribution is too small (nor too large!). Seriously. The more people who donate, the lighter the load. IFL has taken the leadership role in galvanizing our pro life allies in every corner of Iowa to join forces.

Our share is $11,000.  Together, we can save lives.

Support our pro life billboard campaign. Donate today.

Our efforts work

We’ve used funds raised last summer to fund pro life curriculum in Catholic elementary and middle schools.

We’ve used funds raised at our October banquet and our year-end appeal to fund our Clash of Creeds project (more performances coming in late February!).

And now we’re moving at the speed of light to launch an ambitious pro-life billboard project.

We can do it. And it will make a HUGE difference in Des Moines and beyond. Human lives WILL be saved, I promise you.

Iowans for LIFE needs your support today to raise the funds to counter the obscene messaging being imposed on our impressionable youth.

Thanks to you, we are winning. Life is winning. Please: support our billboard campaign today by donating today.

Planned Parenthood promotes abortion with new billboard campaign

Did you see the latest billboard:

“I had my gall bladder removed, and I’m not apologizing for it.”

Sorry, that’s not quite what Planned Parenthood’s new billboards say. Here is the actual wording:

“I had an abortion, and I’m not apologizing.”

Here is the distinction: no one would take out a billboard boasting about a gall bladder gone bad. Planned Parenthood’s new advertising campaign tries to normalize abortion in an attempt to bolster their lagging sales.

It gets worse

Another one of their billboards is especially disingenuous when it proclaims:

pro life billboard campaign

“I had an abortion, & it was just healthcare.”

Keep reading, because Iowans for LIFE has a plan to fight back with their own pro life billboard campaign.

Let’s be honest: human abortion is not healthcare

The overwhelming majority of abortions involve a healthy mom carrying a healthy baby in her womb.

An online dictionary defined healthcare as “the field concerned with the maintenance or restoration of the health of the body or mind.”

It goes further by defining health as “soundness of body or mind; freedom from disease or ailment.”

A pregnant woman is not ill

The unborn person in her womb is certainly not a disease or an ailment, at least according to the dictionary, which defines a disease as “a disordered or incorrectly functioning organ.”

And the vast majority of babies being aborted by Planned Parenthood are healthy, rosy-cheeked, ‘correctly-functioning’ human beings at the early arc of their life.

So we can agree that human abortion has nothing to do with healthcare, especially in light of the potential health risks to women, including, injury to uterus or cervix, hemorrhage, infection, and even maternal death. And then there are the psychic wounds so many women experience that can have a lifelong impact on their mental health.

So if human abortion has nothing to do with human healthcare, why is Planned Parenthood investing tens of thousands of dollars in an attempt to deceive vulnerable women that ending the lives of the babies they carry is somehow healthy?

It’s all about profits

The former Planned Parenthood of the Heartland was forced to close 20 abortion clinics between 2010 and 2017 as fewer Iowans sought abortions (thanks in part to the yeoman educational efforts of Iowa’s pro life community, including IFL, and the non-stop prayers of rank and file Iowans); and thanks to the Iowa legislature’s decision to re-funnel taxpayer money to authentic reproductive health clinics that don’t perform unneeded abortions.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland was forced to merge with surrounding states to keep their remaining clinics open. And where are these remaining eight clinics? Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs and Iowa City, the exact same places where their billboards appear.

Planned Parenthood needs sales

Every single abortion they perform rings their cash register and helps pay the $488,000 annual salary of their executive director, Sarah Stoesz.

Iowans for LIFE fights back

Okay, so what should we do about Planned Parenthood’s offensive billboards? We’re going to fight back with our own, but we need your help right away. Iowans for LIFE is at work designing our own pro life billboard campaign with a healthy pro-life message. Can you help? We need to raise $7000 as a first step to fight back and get our initial billboards published.

Simply click here and donate now.

It’s interesting that the same political activists who rail against pharmaceutical companies for advertising their products actually cheer Planned Parenthood for doing the same.

At least pharmaceutical companies are actually involved in healthcare. Big Abortion can’t say the same.

[Help us fight Planned Parenthood’s dishonest billboard campaign with our own pro-life billboard campaign. Donate now!]

Servants of mankind

Dec 27, 2018 | Comments Off on Servants of mankind

servants of mankindElite Daily blasts pro-lifers:

“But why don’t they give a single sh*t about that baby once it’s actually born?”

Comedian Lizz Winstead joins the pro-abortion chorus:

“Just think if all those people protesting outside of abortion clinics decided they cared about ACTUAL kids…”

Actress Lena Dunham, who once lamented that she’s never had an abortion, echoed their sentiments:

“I know this is basic knowledge at this point, but my mind simply can’t comprehend that the same people who claim to care so much about embryos care so little about living children.”

Guardian columnist, Jessica Valenti, chimed in that pro-lifers …

“don’t give a sh*t about actual babies.”

Why are they so misinformed?

Let us set aside the inability of these abortion advocates to express a cogent thought without being profane. Why are they so misinformed? Why are they so oblivious to the loving outreach to “actual kids” by thousands upon thousands of pro-life supporters in the U.S. and beyond?

Because their rant is all a smokescreen to demonize the pro-life movement while attempting to present abortion advocates in a compassionate light.

Here’s the question:

Would these supporters of unfettered, legal abortion actually change their tune about the pro-life movement if confronted with the profound, compassionate outreach by pro life groups? No, they wouldn’t.

But Pulse Life Advocates knows that there are many Iowans who identify as pro-choice who embrace a variety of less radical positions. These Iowans appreciate honest reporting on the subject.

Two U.S. Senators publicly smear the Knights

For example, two pro-abortion Senators demonized the Knights of Columbus in 2018 during a judicial confirmation hearing in Washington DC.

Then-senator Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii suggested that Omaha lawyer, Brian Buescher, is not suitable to become a federal judge because of his longstanding membership in the Knights of Columbus.

Senator Hirono charged that the Knights have staked out “extreme positions” based on Catholic teaching that supports traditional marriage and the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.

In fully McCarthyism mode, she demanded to know:

“If confirmed, do you intend to end your membership with this organization to avoid any appearance of bias?”

And Senator Harris showed her disdain by characterizing “the Knights of Columbus [as an] an all-male society comprised of primarily Catholic men … [that] opposes a woman’s right to choose.”

Anti-Catholic bigotry is alive and well.

And yet if ever there was a pro-life group that helps babies after they’re born, it is the Knights.

The Knights of Columbus supports the Special Olympics, you know the very kids abortion advocates abort at alarming rates. (Some 90% Down Syndrome babies are aborted.)

They buy ultra sound machines for pro-life pregnancy centers.

They provide funds to support refugee relief to help persecuted groups facing genocide around the world.

And they provide coats for kids; wheelchairs for the lame; and homes for the homeless.

Local outreach

Have you ever seen a Knight handing out Tootsie Rolls when you walk into a local grocery store, and do you ever wonder what happens to the money you donate? Here’s one example in Des Moines, Iowa: Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s Knight’s chapter has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Ruby Van Meter school over the years.

Ruby Van Meter is a school for kids with significant intellectual disabilities. The Knights help these “actual living human beings.”

They buy coats for actual human beings.

They save lives of actual Christian human beings being persecuted in dangerous corners of the world.

And they improve the lives of actual disabled young people.

This is a compassionate organization liberal politicians should be applauding, not demonizing.

Can you see how abortion poisons rational thinking?

For the record, what is Planned Parenthood doing to help actual human beings AFTER they’re born? The answer is self-evident when the organization is the largest provider of abortions in the U.S..

The Knights of Columbus are true servants of mankind. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Don’t let anti-Catholic bigotry gain more traction.
