40 Days for Life Des Moines

We know the power of prayer and our peaceful witness can save lives and end abortion!

Knowing that “with God, all things are possible,” people of faith and conscience unite in 40 days of prayer and fasting. The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a focused, 40-day prayer vigil outside a single Planned Parenthood center. In Des Moines this vigil takes outside of the Susan Knapp "Heath" Center at 2304 University Avenue, Des Moines, 50311, IA. It is a peaceful and educational presence. Those who are called to stand witness during this vigil send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion.

Prayer is a centerpiece of our mission at Pulse Life Advocates. To this end, we participate during both the spring and fall campaigns every year. Our schedule for the 2026 spring campaign is as follows:

• Wednesday, February 18th from 10:30-11:30am
• Tuesday, February 24th from 10:30-11:30am
• Thursday, February 26th from 4:00-5:00pm
• Wednesday, March 4th from 10:30-11:30am
• Thursday, March 5th from 4:00- 5:00pm
• Monday, March 9th from 12:00-1:00pm
• Thursday March 12th from  4:00-5:00pm
• Thursday, March 19th from 3:30-4:30pm
• Monday, March 23rd from12:00-1:00pm
• Thursday, March 26th from 4:00-5:00pm

If you cannot join us please be in prayer at home for this campaign, the lives of the unborn, and for the clients and employees of the Des Moines Planned Parenthood location.

There are daily devotions available on the 40daysforlife.com website under the Resources tab and under Devotionals. These are so helpful to focus our prayers each day!

Just a few reminders:

1. The online Calendar is set up. Please consider signing up for a prayer time.

2. If you are in need of posters or other supplies, please contact me. I have extra copies of the daily devotions printed in books.  I have a few copies of the “Unplanned” movie available.

3. Remember, if you ever feel threatened or in any kind of danger, leave to find safety and call the police. If possible you can record interactions on your cell phone. Please also make me aware of any problems, so others can be alerted.
